Volunteers are a key element in the success of a school. CAVIT relies on the services, expertise and generous time and talents that volunteers provide. We welcome a variety of volunteers who enhance our students’ educational experience. However, for the safety and protection of students, staff and our volunteers, we are required to follow certain guidelines, depending on your involvement.

Volunteers

A CAVIT volunteer is an individual who has been given a scheduled, pre-arranged activity by a staff member to assist in one of our career training programs. Any person who volunteers more than five (5) hours per year must be fingerprinted. All potential volunteers, including parents of students attending CAVIT, must complete the volunteer application and be cleared before they can begin volunteering.

Visitors

Individuals who are visiting CAVIT do not need to be a registered volunteer. This would include parents who are visiting the school, but not volunteering. All visitors must follow the school’s visitor sign-in procedures.

Fingerprinting

All volunteers must be fingerprinted at no expense to the volunteer. Volunteer chaperones on overnight field trips or leadership conferences must also be fingerprinted, regardless of the total number of hours volunteered.

Approval Consideration

Please complete the volunteer application if you are interested. Please contact Anna Carreon, Business Manager, at 520-423-2992 to make an appointment for fingerprinting. Bring your completed application and driver’s license with you to your appointment.
